Simple, Softer, and Slower
Simple Life, Softer Life, Slower Life
Have you ever felt a longing, a nudge, or even a flat-out desire to live a simpler life?
Or maybe just a softer or slower one?
I don’t just mean a life with less stress or fewer responsibilities. I mean a completely different outlook on life. One where you wake up with a purpose in mind, confident that no matter what comes your way, you’ll still be living that purpose.
A simple life where you know you’re becoming the best version of yourself—your higher self.
The Reality of Daily Life
For most of us, daily life is far from that. Honestly? It feels more like a fairy tale.
We know all the “right” things to do:
Eat healthy
Exercise
Keep the home running
Make our partner happy
Keep the kids fed and alive
All the things we do to make life flow—just enough to survive the day-to-day.
We tell ourselves, “Tomorrow it will be better. Tomorrow I’ll rest.”
But then tomorrow comes… and it’s the same fast, hard, confusing jumble of survival that yesterday was.
The Question That Lingers
Don’t get me wrong—there is plenty to love in the chaos.
But eventually, that nudge, that desire, that little whisper asks:
“Is this really how it’s supposed to be?”
I love my life… but I don’t like my life.
That’s where it hit me, nearing 40.
I loved my kids.
I was in college advancing my degree.
I was beginning an amazing relationship with my now husband.
And yet, I still felt the pull toward a different kind of life.
One that honored who I was becoming.
One not lived out of fear of what others might think.
Awakening to a New Way
Some would call it a midlife crisis. Some questioned my sanity.
Some people bowed out—gracefully or not so gracefully.
But others extended a hand and stood with me in love and understanding.
I don’t see it as a crisis.
For me, it was an awakening.
An awakening into a life I could love and like.
A chance to truly embrace myself—my higher self—and keep becoming.
Where You Might Be
Maybe you found this clarity early in life.
Maybe, like me, you had to walk through the chaos first.
Maybe you:
Feel the nudge but push it away, telling yourself, “This life is enough.”
Tiptoe around it, dabbling like you’re testing the water but not ready to dive in.
Here’s the truth: no matter where you are—young or old, busy or slow, calm or chaotic—listening to that little voice only brings more fulfillment, peace, and satisfaction.
Always Keep Becoming
Life doesn’t have to be just survival.
It can be simple.
It can be softer.
It can be slower.
And it all begins with listening to that inner nudge.
Always keep becoming.
